Her d€@th was announced on Thursday by Nollywood director Tobi Oladele, also known as Tee Mony, via a statement shared on his official Instagram page. According to the filmmaker, the veteran actress p@ssed on overnight after battling health challenges for an extended period.
In his statement, Tee Mony expressed deep appreciation to fans, colleagues, and well-wishers across Nigeria and beyond who stood by the actress during her difficult times. He acknowledged the prayers, financial assistance, and words of encouragement that poured in as efforts were made to support her medical treatment.
The director also used the opportunity to appeal to the public to stop sending donations to the bank accounts that had earlier been shared for her treatment, noting that further financial contributions were no longer necessary following her p@ssing.
Ajara Lasisi’s elder brother, Ridwan Lasisi, also confirmed the sad development in a video message circulated online. He thanked Nigerians and members of the Nollywood community for their overwhelming support and solidarity, while respectfully requesting privacy for the family as they mourn their loss.
The actress’ demise comes just weeks after several Nollywood personalities publicly appealed for financial assistance as her health reportedly deteriorated despite ongoing medical care. Her condition had sparked widespread concern, prompting fans and colleagues to rally around her through donations and public advocacy.
